TANDEM activities that aim at enhancing the dialogue between WACREN, End Users, NRENs and research and tertiary education institutes of the Western and Central Africa Region, in order to elaborate an implementation roadmap of a service portfolio answering to the End User needs:
TANDEM will create a set of dissemination materials demonstrating the benefits of national research end education networks
Illustrate the benefits of the wide range of some NREN services run by users in Europe and Latin America.
An exhaustive desktop study of existing services that NRENs can provide with associated examples (See D3.1 – Dissemination materials)
TANDEM will gather the End User requirements, by using a methodology, based on a questionnaire, experienced in the ei4africa project.
The goal of this questionnaire is to capture End User’s feedbacks in order to identify the impact and value of services and respond by proposing services tailored to their needs.
Report concatenating the analytical results of the survey.
TANDEM will analyse the responses to the questionnaire and define a set of representative use cases.
The goal is to ientify the key services that NRENs and WACREN will have to support.
A report identifying the service portfolio answering the End User’s needs and listing technical recommandations for implementation.
TANDEM will set up a WACREN roadmap for future implementation of key NREN services in the region, taking into account the recommendations provided in the TANDEM Report on policy financial and regulatory issues with opportunities for the development of WACREN and NREN.
The goal is to provide an action plan, an estimate of the costs for implementing and running the services, and training plans at a technical level and a managerial level so that each NREN will be able to implement the identified services.
A report providing a roadmap for implementation of the service portfolio taking into account technical constraints as well as policy, financial, regulatory issues.
