WACREN organizes its second regional capacity building workshop in Abuja, Nigeria, on September 28 – October 2, 2015.

The workshop will be organized in collaboration with the Nigerian Research and Education Network (NgREN), the Association of African Universities (AAU), the Network Startup Research Centre (NSRC) and GÉANT Association.

Goal: The workshop is designed for staff of campus networks and NRENs involved with network monitoring and problem response. Target audience is those who need to manage network and NOC operations. It will cover monitoring systems and tools including an introduction to the perfSONAR measurement framework.

A laptop with wireless capability, understanding of general networking concepts and knowledge of UNIX/Linux


  • All participants will have to secure funds for their travel, including visa fees where applicable.
  • International participants will be provided with free accommodation (from 27 September to 3 October 2015)
  • Lunches and coffee breaks will be provided for all participants for the duration of the workshop.
