CIRAD, the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development, one of TANDEM’s project partners, has joined the CAAST-Net Plus project.

CIRAD, with headquarters in Montpellier, France, and 12 regional offices, is a major driver of the agricultural research for development agenda globally.

The CAAST-Net Plus consortium now consists of 26 partners from Europe and sub-Saharan Africa working together to support bi-regional cooperation in research and innovation.

CIRAD’s participation in CAAST-Net Plus will mainly focus on improving bi-regional cooperation to address the global challenge of food and nutrition security.

With considerable experience of bilateral partnerships with African research organisations in a number of countries, CIRAD will play a key role in the Africa-EU bi-regional cooperation in food security as responsible for identifying good practices and framework conditions and thus enabling successful public-private partnerships.
